SpaceX Executive: Goal to Return Humans to the Moon by 2028

Odaily Planet Daily News: SpaceX executives addressed the progress of the "Human Landing System (HLS)" program during this morning's earnings call.

Elon Musk stated: "For Starship, before we can put humans on board, we first need to prove that it can execute satellite launch missions with extremely high reliability. We anticipate that the launch frequency of Starship will be very high in the future, allowing us to rapidly accumulate sufficient data and flight experience to reach the safety levels required for crewed flight. I believe we can reach this goal by around the end of next year."

Gwynne Shotwell, President of SpaceX, added: "Looking at mission milestones, orbital propellant transfer is a critical technology for both SpaceX's internal development plans and the HLS (Human Landing System) program. Next year, the Artemis III mission will be executed, during which our Starship will dock with Orion. Following that, we will also conduct an uncrewed cargo mission directly to the Moon. Our goal is to truly achieve human boots on the lunar surface by 2028."
