DeepSeek restarts funding round, with pre-investment valuation of 500 billion yuan
Odaily reported that multiple traders have revealed that the large model company DeepSeek has restarted its second round of financing, planning to raise 50 billion yuan in this round, with a pre-investment valuation of approximately 500 billion yuan, and aims to complete the signing by late August. Several investors mentioned that DeepSeek's second round of financing had already begun by at least mid-July but was suddenly paused at the end of July, when some investors on the negotiation waitlist were informed that the plan to sign the financing agreement had been postponed. According to a media report on July 26, one reason for pausing the second round of financing was that DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng was dissatisfied with widely circulated comments online, primarily related to a suspected leaked "meeting transcript for investors." DeepSeek and the investors currently in negotiations hope that this financing round can proceed quietly once restarted. At present, some investment institutions that had previously shown strong interest stated that they have not yet received news of the restart, and the channel remains suspended. (Caijing Magazine)
