Odaily News: Crypto asset manager Hashdex will close and liquidate its US spot bitcoin ETF, the Hashdex Bitcoin ETF, which manages approximately $14.7 million in assets. The fund will cease trading and be delisted after market close on August 17.
Shareholders still holding the fund are expected to receive cash distributions around August 28, following the fund's sale of its remaining bitcoin holdings. Hashdex stated that after the final trading day, the fund will liquidate its remaining bitcoin positions and will only engage in activities related to winding down, preserving asset value, settling liabilities, and distributing remaining assets to shareholders.
Hashdex stated that prior to making the liquidation decision, it evaluated the fund's asset management scale, trading liquidity, operational costs, investor interest, and its positioning within the company's overall product line. The company noted that it still manages over $200 million in investment products for US investors.
