AI cloud infrastructure company Volta Infra completes $300 million funding round, with Nvidia and Michael Dell participating

Odaily News: AI cloud infrastructure company Volta Infra Holdings announced the completion of a $300 million venture financing round, co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and Altimeter Capital, with participation from Nvidia and Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell. In addition, Volta has secured $5 billion in customer financing pool support, aimed at lowering the barrier for small and medium-sized AI enterprises to purchase Nvidia's high-end chips. The company also disclosed that it has signed a $10 billion, six-year cloud computing services contract with an unnamed leading AI developer. The contract will be delivered in partnership with Bitdeer, leveraging its 133-megawatt data center in Norway. Volta was co-founded earlier this year by Ricard Boada and Sofia Gumuzio, former executives in Brookfield Asset Management's infrastructure business. The company has already secured 1 gigawatt of data center power resources and plans to develop new sites in Texas and Wyoming, targeting multi-gigawatt computing capacity deployment by 2030.
