Odaily Planet Daily News: Huawei semiconductor scientist Liao Heng stated that Western chip manufacturers, including Nvidia, will face physical limits in the future through the approach of continuously expanding computing chip scale and increasing HBM memory to improve performance. He pointed out that the traditional method of relying on shrinking transistor dimensions to enhance performance is approaching a bottleneck, and said that Huawei is exploring new paths to improve data transmission efficiency between chips through the "Tau Scaling Law."
Liao Heng stated that Huawei plans to launch a mobile chip designed based on this concept in the near future and will accept teardown analysis by institutions such as SemiAnalysis and TechInsights. He also mentioned that the semiconductor supply chains of China and the United States are forming two independent ecosystems, and China needs to respond to external technological restrictions through collaborative innovation between chip companies and AI model companies.
