Odaily Planet Daily News: Japanese convenience store giant Lawson will conduct Japan's first POS cash register stablecoin payment pilot experiment on August 6 and August 17 at two stores in Tokyo. The experiment uses three stablecoins—JPYC, USDC, and USDT—with payments completed via HashPort Wallet and MetaMask wallets, and settlement processed through the PAYTREE multi-code payment gateway provided by Canal Payment Service, without the need for dedicated payment terminals. The August 6 experiment will be held at the Takanawa Gateway City store, using HashPort Wallet and JPYC; the August 17 experiment will take place at the Osaki Atrium store, using MetaMask along with USDC, USDT, and JPYC.
