Serenity: SK Hynix, Micron, and Samsung's 2027 DRAM and HBM capacity already sold out; memory shortage may persist
Odaily News, Serenity, citing industry supply chain sources from DigiTimes, reported that SK Hynix, Micron, and Samsung Electronics' 2027 DRAM and HBM capacity has been largely sold out, with customers currently able to secure only approximately 60% to 70% of their initial demand.
Serenity stated that the current memory supply tightness has exceeded market expectations, and 2027 could enter the "most severe phase of memory shortage." Meanwhile, SanDisk, Samsung Electronics, and Micron's annual NAND capacity has also been pre-booked, with Kioxia and SK Hynix expected to complete subsequent capacity allocation by August 2026.
Previously, some market views suggested that memory supply could see a surplus by mid-2027, but Serenity believes that based on the current industry chain situation, major memory manufacturers' capacity has already been sold out in advance. The continuous build-out of AI infrastructure is driving demand for HBM and high-end DRAM, and the tight supply-demand situation may persist.
