Odaily News – Jim Cramer stated that he plans to sell all of his Bitcoin holdings. He believes quantum computing could crack Bitcoin's security mechanism within approximately three years.
In a July 30 interview, IBM Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna stated that quantum computing could pose a challenge to modern cryptography within the next three to four years. A paper published by Google Quantum AI in March of this year estimated that fewer than 500,000 physical qubits would be needed to break the relevant cryptography, roughly one-twentieth of earlier predictions.
Currently, the scale of physical qubits in quantum systems remains in the hundreds to thousands, with a limited number of logical qubits offering high reliability. Researchers estimate that approximately 30% of Bitcoin's supply—between 6 million and 7 million BTC—is held in addresses where public keys have been exposed.
