Global listed companies' weekly net buying surges to $1.16 billion, Strategy reduces 1,638 BTC for $105 million in cash

Odaily News: According to SoSoValue data, as of 8:00 AM ET on August 3, 2026, the total weekly net buying of Bitcoin by global listed companies (excluding mining companies) last week was $1.16 billion, an increase of 7,186.43% compared to the previous week.

On August 3, Strategy generated approximately $105 million in revenue, selling 1,638 Bitcoin at a price of $63,957, reducing its holdings to 842,138 BTC, and spending $81.2 million to repurchase 912,143 shares of STRC preferred stock.

Japanese listed company Metaplanet did not purchase Bitcoin last week, marking the third consecutive week without any Bitcoin purchases.

In addition, five other companies purchased Bitcoin last week. Ethereum asset company Bitmine announced on July 27 that it purchased 1 Bitcoin, without disclosing the specific purchase amount, bringing its total holdings to 208 BTC; asset management company Strive announced on August 3 that it spent $1.26 million to purchase 20 Bitcoin at a price of $63,191, bringing its total holdings to approximately 20,020 BTC; Brazilian Bitcoin company OrangeBTC announced on August 3 that it spent $1.9933 million to purchase 30 Bitcoin at a price of $66,443, bringing its total holdings to 3,948 BTC; UK Bitcoin company The Smarter Web Company announced on August 3 that it invested $750,000 to purchase 11.89 Bitcoin at a price of $63,328, bringing its total holdings to 2,712 BTC; French Bitcoin company Capital B announced on August 3 that it purchased 1 Bitcoin at a price of $64,601.90, bringing its total holdings to 3,140 BTC.

As of press time, global listed companies (excluding mining companies) covered in the statistics hold a combined total of 1,138,643 Bitcoin, a decrease of 0.07% compared to last week, with a current market value of approximately $71.42 billion, accounting for 5.7% of Bitcoin's circulating market capitalization.
