SK Hynix surged 30% to hit the daily limit, while Samsung Electronics rose nearly 27%, with both setting new records for single-day gains. The index experienced significant volatility this week, triggering market-wide circuit breakers twice, before staging a sharp 18% rebound in intraday trading today. The index has fallen 22.4% this month, with the monthly decline second only to the historical record of 27.2% set in October 1997. It has also dropped 30% from its June peak.
