Data: Over 500,000 Korean leveraged retail accounts may have been fully liquidated

Odaily Odaily reports that The Kobeissi Letter posted on X, citing Goldman Sachs data, that as of July 13, over 1.2 million leveraged retail trading accounts in South Korea triggered margin calls, with an estimated 320,000 to 360,000 accounts having been fully liquidated, accounting for approximately 3.4% of South Korea's adult population. And as the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) has fallen by about 18% since July 13, it is now estimated that the number of accounts that have been fully forcibly closed has exceeded 500,000.
