Odaily News: U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis criticized Democrats during a Senate speech for delaying the Clarity Act, stating, “This is a very good bill that benefits the country, consumers, and the people represented by both chambers.” She added, “After nearly 11 months and meeting almost all requirements, I truly find it difficult to understand what more my colleagues believe is needed to take action.” The bill passed the House last year with strong bipartisan support, but has been stalled for most of 2026 due to banking industry concerns over stablecoin yields and Democratic objections to ethics provisions. The latest version of the bill, updated last week, incorporates ethics clauses that prohibit government officials and their family members from issuing or promoting crypto assets.
