Odaily reported that, according to publicly available market data, “Big Short” Michael Burry established short positions in Nvidia (NVDA), Applied Materials (AMAT), and the Philadelphia Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) on June 30, and began directly shorting Micron Technology in early July.

As of the US stock market close on July 28, the unrealized profit on the AMAT short position was approximately 34.7%, SOXX around 23.3%, Micron Technology about 22.0%, and Nvidia around 0.5%. Without considering position weights, the simple average unrealized profit on the semiconductor short positions established from late June to early July was approximately 20.1%.

Furthermore, estimating the additional short positions based on the closing price on July 24, as of the close on July 28, the unrealized profit on the increased short positions in Micron Technology, Nvidia, and SOXX was approximately 10.9%, 4.8%, and 6.4%, respectively, with a simple average of about 7.4%.

Due to the lack of specific information on short size, options structure, proportion of added positions, and whether positions have been closed, the actual profit amount cannot be calculated.
