Microsoft CEO: Trust in US AI Technology Will Keep It Competitive

Odaily Planet Daily News Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated that trust in the US AI technology and its training ecosystem will allow US technology to remain competitive against Chinese products. He noted that the US enhances the competitiveness of the digital industry through an ecosystem approach, with many Chinese models running on American hyperscale cloud services globally.

Nadella also said that because Chinese models adopt open weights, US companies can monitor, test, and post-train them. He believes US competitiveness comes from building a technological ecosystem that other countries can participate in and instilling trust in its management of that ecosystem.

Microsoft holds approximately a 27% stake in OpenAI's for-profit public benefit corporation. US AI companies are facing competition from Chinese rivals. The emergence of DeepSeek last year triggered a $1 trillion sell-off in tech stocks; the Kimi K3 model launched by Moonshot AI in July has drawn attention for its capabilities in coding, reasoning, and knowledge work.
