2026-07-27 04:53

Odaily reported that according to sources familiar with the matter, the $40 billion bridge loan raised by SoftBank Group to invest in OpenAI has attracted 21 new lending institutions during the broader syndication phase. The sources stated that these new lenders collectively secured approximately $7 billion of the loan facility. Among them, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Singapore's GIC, and Standard Chartered each subscribed for nearly $1 billion. The remaining funds were allocated to banks from parts of Europe, Japan, and Taiwan, China. Sources indicated that the remaining $33 billion of the bridge loan is currently still held by underwriters and senior lenders but may be further distributed through syndication in the future.
