U.S. Senate May Not Pass CLARITY Act Before Summer Recess, Dimming Prospects for Legislation This Year

Odaily reports that U.S. Senate Majority Leader John Thune stated that the CLARITY Act may not be able to secure final passage before the summer recess, but he hopes to at least initiate floor consideration before the break.
Previously, the industry had viewed August 7 as an important window for the bill's passage this year. If it is delayed until the fall, the likelihood of completing legislation by 2026 may decrease. White House crypto advisor Patrick Witt indicated that the Senate could still advance related procedures in the first week of August, but the possibility of the CLARITY Act reaching a final vote in July remains low.
