U.S. National Fraternal Order of Police Supports Latest Version of CLARITY Act, Says It Will Not Weaken Crypto Enforcement Capabilities

Odaily reported that according to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, the U.S. National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) has sent a letter to Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott and ranking member Elizabeth Warren, expressing support for the latest version of the CLARITY Act.

The FOP stated that the revised Section 10604 of the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA) has addressed its previous concerns regarding law enforcement authority, and the relevant provisions will not restrict the ability of law enforcement officers to investigate digital asset-related illegal activities. The FOP represents over 382,000 law enforcement officers.

However, Eleanor Terrett pointed out that the BRCA section in the latest version of the CLARITY Act has actually not been modified, and it remains unclear what specific "revised language" the FOP is referring to.
