World Foundation completes $52.5 million WLD token strategic financing, led by Pantera Capital
Odaily reported that the World Foundation, the non-profit organization behind the World protocol, announced the completion of a $52.5 million strategic financing of WLD tokens, led by Pantera Capital, with participation from Bain Capital Crypto, WLD Treasury company Eightco Holdings, Selini Capital, Susquehanna Crypto, and others.
The World Foundation stated that the WLD tokens sold in this round are all locked for one year and are intended solely for the development of the World Network ecosystem, and do not represent equity interests in Tools for Humanity. The funds will be used to promote World ID technology to enterprises, individual users, and AI agents.
World ID utilizes Orb biometric verification to prove that a user is a real human without revealing their identity. Currently, World Network has over 39 million registered users, with more than 18 million having completed Orb verification. It has been integrated with platforms such as Zoom, DocuSign, Okta, Vercel, and Tinder. Following this financing round, the total cumulative financing for the World project amounts to approximately $492.5 million.
