Odaily News In response to cross-border telecom and online fraud crimes, China has in recent years conducted international law enforcement cooperation with more than 30 countries, including Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and Myanmar, forming effective mechanisms and achieving remarkable results.
Jiang Guoli, Director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, stated that since 2023, China has strengthened police cooperation with Myanmar to comprehensively eliminate large-scale telecommunications fraud parks in the border areas of northern Myanmar. A total of over 59,000 criminal suspects have been captured and handed over. This has completely dismantled the notorious "Four Great Families" criminal syndicate in Kokang, northern Myanmar. In early 2025, China, Myanmar, and Thailand established a ministerial-level coordination mechanism to jointly combat fraud crimes, launching a crackdown on fraud operations in Myawaddy. Through 10 joint repatriation operations, over 630 buildings in the Myawaddy KK Park complex have been completely demolished. (CCTV News)
