Jiang Guoli, Director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, stated that since 2023, China has strengthened police cooperation with Myanmar to comprehensively eliminate large-scale telecommunications fraud parks in the border areas of northern Myanmar. A total of over 59,000 criminal suspects have been captured and handed over. This has completely dismantled the notorious "Four Great Families" criminal syndicate in Kokang, northern Myanmar. In early 2025, China, Myanmar, and Thailand established a ministerial-level coordination mechanism to jointly combat fraud crimes, launching a crackdown on fraud operations in Myawaddy.
