Approximately $9 million in unverified funds flowed into George Cottrell's Polymarket account

Odaily reported that George Cottrell's Polymarket account received two unverified transfers in October 2024, totaling approximately $9 million. Of this amount, $7 million came from an OKX exchange wallet and $1.83 million originated from a ChangeNOW wallet. These funds were almost immediately used to bet on Trump winning the U.S. presidential election. Subsequently, approximately $13 million in profits were withdrawn from the account. Cottrell was previously convicted in 2017 on charges of wire fraud related to laundering drug trafficking proceeds.
