Odaily reports that Chubby posted on X platform, stating that the newly released Kimi K3 model has surpassed Anthropic's Opus 4.8 in benchmark tests, which will compel leading US labs to accelerate the release pace of Opus 5 and GPT-6 in response to competitive pressure from the East. Anthropic's Opus 5 is expected to launch soon. For OpenAI, although the overall GPT-5.6 Sol still leads Kimi K3 by a narrow margin, the planned GPT-6 will be released ahead of schedule.
