Trump Media Group Launches Paid Data Service Truth API, Offering Trading Institutions Fast Access to Trump's Posts
Odaily Odaily reported that Trump Media & Technology Group has announced the launch of a paid data product, Truth API, scheduled to go live on August 1st. It will provide banks, algorithmic trading firms, and other institutions with real-time post feeds from the 10 most influential accounts on Truth Social, including Trump himself.
TMTG stated that the information transmission speed of this service will be significantly faster than standard push notifications, offering 24/7 coverage and an archive of historical posts dating back to 2022. The company noted that clients have already signed agreements. TMTG claims this move marks its first foray into data licensing, aiming to commercialize the market influence of Trump's posts.
U.S. Senator Ron Wyden criticized the product, saying it could benefit the Trump family and give Wall Street traders an advantage. Legal experts, however, indicated that a tech platform's tiered distribution of information does not, in itself, violate federal securities laws.
