Odaily Planet Daily News: An internal assessment by the U.S. Department of Defense indicates that the actual cost of U.S. military operations against Iran could be as high as $100 billion, far exceeding the approximately $30 billion previously disclosed by the U.S. government. It is reported that the massive discrepancy is mainly because the earlier official estimates did not include undisclosed combat expenditures, losses of advanced fighter jets, and the severe damage costs to U.S. military facilities in the Middle East. U.S. Senator Angus King stated that the American public is deeply disappointed by the inability to know the true cost of the war, "not to mention the additional costs incurred by the public, such as rising gasoline prices."
