White House Chief Crypto Advisor Patrick Witt to Take Leave for Military Training, Potentially Impacting Clarity Act Negotiation Progress
Odaily reports that White House Chief Crypto Advisor Patrick Witt will begin a multi-month leave of absence later this month to attend the JAG program training with the Georgia Army National Guard. Witt had originally planned to participate in the program in April, but it was postponed due to the extended negotiations over the Clarity Act, and this time he could not defer it again. Since assuming the role in August last year, Witt has led negotiations with lawmakers and industry stakeholders on the core disputes of the bill, including brokering compromises between the crypto industry and banks on stablecoin yields, handling ethical clause disputes, and securing support from law enforcement agencies. Deputy Harry Jung will assume his responsibilities.
