Odaily reported that, according to Jinshi, an advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader stated: "No Iranian believes we should abandon the Strait of Hormuz. We defend the Strait of Hormuz to ensure we will not be forced to pay ransom to enemies for the passage of our ships in the future. The strategic position of the Strait of Hormuz, along with its security and economic importance, has no substitute. We will never back down on the issue of the Strait of Hormuz."
