Intel to Invest €5 Billion in Expanding Ireland Facility

2026-07-13 12:39

Odaily Intel (INTC.O) will invest 5 billion euros (approximately $5.7 billion) to expand its facility in Ireland, as it seeks to regain dominance in manufacturing amid the artificial intelligence boom.

In a statement, Intel said the investment will expand capacity at its Leixlip campus outside Dublin, as part of the company's plan to boost production of data center processors. The expansion will enhance production capabilities for products including its flagship Xeon server processors, while also advancing research and development activities. Intel Executive Vice President Naga Chandrasekaran stated in a release that this move is also part of the plan to improve delivery capabilities for customers of Intel's foundry business. Intel's foundry business primarily manufactures chips for other technology companies and is a key component of the company's turnaround strategy, aimed at strengthening competition with rivals such as TSMC.
