Analysis: Despite Bitcoin’s nearly 10% gain in July, the market may still replicate the 2022 bear market trend

2026-07-13 12:17

According to Odaily, although Bitcoin (BTC) has recorded a cumulative increase of nearly 10% since July — the best performance for the same period in nearly four years — several market analysts have warned that the current trajectory closely resembles the pattern seen during the 2022 bear market, and the market could weaken again starting in August. In 2022, Bitcoin rebounded by nearly 17% in July, only to drop approximately 14% in August and 3% in September.

Trader Daan Crypto Trades noted that Bitcoin's performance so far is largely in line with the historical average for July. However, the third quarter has traditionally been one of Bitcoin's weakest quarters, with average gains of only about 6%. Declining market liquidity and trading volume could be a significant factor contributing to the weak performance in Q3. Rekt Capital also pointed out that Bitcoin's price action in 2026 shows a high degree of similarity to previous bear market cycles. If history repeats itself, Bitcoin may continue its summer rally through the latter half of July, but will then face a new round of corrections. (Cointelegraph)
