SK hynix expects HBM prices to double by 2027, with the storage industry potentially facing its tightest supply ever
Odaily reported that on the evening of July 10th Eastern Time, SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung stated that 2027 will be the year with the tightest supply in the history of the storage industry. Currently, customers are seeking to sign long-term supply agreements with SK hynix as demand continues to grow, but the company faces capacity constraints. Kwak Noh-jung noted that although the company is expanding capacity, customer demand after 2030 may still outstrip the company's supply capabilities. A domestic industry investment professional who has been in contact with South Korean storage manufacturers said that executives from overseas storage giants are also paying close attention to the expansion progress of Chinese storage manufacturers, indicating that Changxin Memory Technologies (CXMT) and Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) could become the biggest long-term variables in the future storage market.
