The housing bill containing a CBDC ban clause has officially taken effect, becoming law without Trump's signature
Odaily Odaily reports that the "21st Century ROAD to Housing Act" in the United States has officially taken effect, which includes clauses prohibiting the Federal Reserve from issuing a central bank digital currency (CBDC).
According to reports, Trump previously stated he would not sign the housing bill unless Congress first passed the "SAVE AMERICA ACT" requiring proof of citizenship for federal election voting. However, after the bill was submitted to the White House, Trump neither signed nor vetoed it within 10 days. In accordance with the U.S. Constitution, the bill automatically became law.
The bill had previously been passed by a vote of 85:5 in the Senate and 358:32 in the House of Representatives. In addition to prohibiting the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC, the bill also includes content related to housing policy.
