Base will activate the B20 token standard on July 9

Odaily reported that Base announced plans to officially activate the B20 token standard on the mainnet at 2:00 AM Beijing time on July 9. The upgrade was originally scheduled to go live on June 27 but was postponed due to stability reasons.

According to the introduction, B20 is Base's native token standard, designed to enhance user experience through faster, lower-cost, and more standardized settlement mechanisms, allowing global financial assets to be deployed on the Base network as programmable capital with on-chain composability.
