South Korea Jointly with Samsung, SK, and Other Companies Launches 312 Trillion Won Investment Plan, Focusing on Semiconductors and Aerospace Industries

South Korea's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Choi Sang-mok, announced that the government will promote major companies to invest over 312 trillion won (approximately $204 billion) in the southeastern (Yeongnam) region to develop advanced manufacturing and AI industries.
Under the specific plan, SK Group, Samsung, Hanwha, and Hyundai Motor will inject about 140 trillion, 60 trillion, 55 trillion, and 42 trillion won respectively, focusing on sectors such as semiconductors, AI, and aerospace. LG and Doosan will also follow up with investments. Additionally, South Korea unveiled a national aerospace strategy centered on Sacheon, aiming to build a southern coastal aerospace industry belt.
