Thailand Seizes 315 Cryptocurrency Mining Machines Suspected of Power Theft, Losses Estimated at 40.38 Million Baht

Odaily reports that Thai police, in collaboration with relevant authorities, conducted a joint operation across five provinces in the northeast, raiding 14 locations and seizing 315 cryptocurrency mining machines suspected of illegally tapping into the power grid and tampering with electricity meters to steal electricity. The total electricity losses amount to approximately 40.38 million Thai Baht, roughly 8.3 million RMB, including 5.38 million Thai Baht in fines for electricity violations and about 35 million Thai Baht in unpaid electricity bills.
