2026-06-19 15:34

Odaily reported that The Kobeissi Letter published data analysis on the X platform, indicating that the weight of the semiconductor sector in the U.S. stock market continues to rise, currently accounting for approximately 18.8% of the total market capitalization of the S&P 500, setting a new all-time high. This figure has more than tripled since 2022. Over the same period, the semiconductor index SOX has accumulated gains of approximately 546%, highlighting the sector's significant leading position in the current technology cycle.

From a historical perspective, the current weight of semiconductors in the S&P 500 has already surpassed more than half of the peak level seen during the 2000 dot-com bubble. The structural proportion has noticeably increased. The U.S. equity market is continuously concentrating towards the AI and semiconductor supply chain, with the influence of tech stocks on the overall index reaching historically extreme levels.
