The Nikkei 225 index closed up 196.57 points on Friday, June 19, an increase of 0.28%, after falling over 0.5% during the session, to 71,250.06 points. South Korea's KOSPI index closed down 14.81 points on Friday, June 19, a decline of 0.16%, after falling over 3% during the session, to 9,049.03 points.
