France near Marseille Cryptocurrency Kidnapping and Robbery Case: Four Arrested
Odaily News French police have arrested four suspects in and around Marseille in connection with an attempted kidnapping and robbery targeting cryptocurrency assets. The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on June 13, 2026, when the suspects broke into a residential apartment in Marseille's 13th arrondissement, attempting to kidnap two women to gain access to cryptocurrency-related assets. A family in the vicinity was awakened by the noise and immediately alerted the police. The suspects then fled the scene, leaving behind only their vehicle license plate as a clue.
It is reported that such crypto-related kidnapping crimes are on the rise in France, with approximately 70 cases involving kidnapping or extortion for crypto assets recorded since 2026.
