Odaily has learned that multiple crypto industry founders, CEOs, and investors recently sent a joint letter to Senate leadership, urging them not to weaken protections for software developers in the Clarity Act. The letter states that removing these protections could cause the United States to lose relevant technology developers. Congress is currently pushing to establish a formal regulatory framework for digital assets. The Senate Banking Committee has advanced the Clarity Act with bipartisan support, and the bill is now preparing for a full Senate vote. A key component is the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act, or BRCA. This provision stipulates that individuals who merely write open-source software, run nodes, or help validate transactions, without ever taking custody or control of others' funds, should not be considered money transmitters under federal law.
