Odaily reports that the Pakistan Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (PVARA) has initiated a public consultation on the draft "Pakistan Virtual Asset Service Regulations 2026" and accompanying specialized handbooks. The deadline for submitting comments is 16:00 local time on July 2. The draft establishes a licensing and regulatory framework for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs), specifying rules for corporate governance, risk control, cybersecurity, anti-money laundering, among others, and is accompanied by ten types of license-specific business manuals. This consultation aims to improve the domestic regulatory framework and align the country's virtual asset regulatory system with FATF international standards.
