Iran's Foreign Ministry: Potential Understanding Between Iran and US Only for Continued Dialogue, Not a Final Agreement
Odaily News: Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated on the 13th that any potential understanding reached between Iran and the United States is solely aimed at facilitating further dialogue between the two sides, and does not constitute a final agreement. Unfreezing Iran's frozen assets will be an indispensable part of any such understanding. According to Iran’s Student News Agency (ISNA), Baghaei told media representatives that Iran’s current focus is on ending hostilities and regional tensions across all fronts, and will not delve into the details of the nuclear issue at this stage. He emphasized that the only way to achieve regional security is to end the presence of foreign military forces in the region.
Baghaei stressed that the issue of unfreezing Iran’s assets is a crucial component of any understanding and will not be excluded. Current topics under discussion also include eliminating hostile actions by the U.S. against Iranian vessels and issues related to the Strait of Hormuz. Baghaei stated that Iran will act with the utmost prudence in advancing negotiations and diplomatic processes, while remaining vigilant based on past experience. If the other party refuses to fulfill its obligations, Iran can take countermeasures. (Xinhua)
