US Media: Israel Pressures to Block Unfreezing of Iranian Assets as Part of Ceasefire Agreement
Odaily reported that according to CNN, Israeli sources have revealed that Israel is pressuring the United States to prevent the unfreezing of Iranian assets from being included as part of a ceasefire agreement. Netanyahu maintains regular communication with US President Trump, including a phone call on Thursday evening. Previously, Trump claimed that Israel was one of several countries in the Middle East that agreed to the deal. Netanyahu subsequently issued a statement saying that Trump had pledged to include the removal of Iran's enriched uranium, dismantling its nuclear program, limiting its missile development, and ending its support for proxies as part of the final agreement. Trump's public comments have focused on the enriched uranium issue; he has not mentioned missiles or proxies for weeks. The aforementioned Israeli source stated that Israel believes that even if the US and Iran sign a memorandum of understanding, a final agreement will not ultimately be reached.
