Odaily reported that on the early morning of the 3rd local time, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran issued a statement stating that on the evening of the 2nd, a US artillery shell hit an Iranian oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz, damaging its engine room. In response to "this act of aggression and violation of the rules of the Strait of Hormuz," the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked the "Panaya," a vessel belonging to the US and Israel, with missiles. The statement said that in a new round of aggression, the US military attacked a communication tower of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps located in the south of Qeshm Island. In response, the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched missile and drone attacks on a US air base in a certain country in the region and the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet.
