Iran's Intelligence Ministry says enemies are exerting pressure through a "soft war"
Odaily Odaily News, Iran's Tasnim News Agency reported today (May 27) that the Iranian intelligence department issued a statement claiming that "hostile forces" are attempting to exert new pressure on Iran through "soft war," "cognitive warfare," and other "hybrid warfare" methods. The statement said that according to information obtained by Iran, the enemy is currently focusing on seven key areas, including increasing economic pressure, exploiting social issues to incite public opinion, stoking ethnic and religious conflicts, carrying out terrorist attacks and sabotage activities, smuggling weapons and illegal communication devices, launching cyber attacks, and conducting information warfare via overseas Persian-language media and social media platforms. The statement also claimed that the enemy had attempted to use armed groups to launch ground operations from western and northwestern Iran, but those plans have been thwarted by Iran. The statement further accused some overseas media of participating in information warfare and said Iran's intelligence agencies have seized large quantities of weapons and communication devices. In its concluding remarks, the Iranian intelligence department stated that Iran has experienced multiple wars, failed coup attempts, and various security challenges, and has remained stable in intelligence warfare and hybrid warfare.
