Turkey has nearly liquidated its holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds

Odaily News According to calculations based on data from the U.S. Treasury Department, Turkey almost completely sold off its holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds in March (the first month of the Iran war outbreak) in a bid to bolster its local currency. Data shows that as of the end of March, Turkey's total holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds fell to $1.8 billion from $16 billion the previous month. This figure includes bonds held by the central bank as well as other Turkish entities, including corporations. (Jin Shi)
