Odaily reports that Bumo Sarang, South Korea's seventh-largest pension relief company, invested 59.5 billion KRW of its operating funds last year in a daily double-return leveraged ETF linked to the Ethereum-themed stock Bitmine, incurring a loss of 49.3 billion KRW (approximately $32.73 million). A comprehensive review of the 2025 audit reports of 75 pension relief companies reveals that 42.7% of these companies hold total assets less than the advance payments due to clients, meaning that if all clients were to terminate their contracts simultaneously, the companies would be unable to provide full refunds.
