Odaily reported that when asked how long Powell would remain as a Fed Governor after Kevin Warsh takes over as Fed Chair, White House National Economic Council Director Hassett said during an interview that he believes Powell may feel he can choose to step down after the Fed Inspector General completes its investigation into the Federal Building renovation project. Hassett stated: “I guess the natural opportunity to step aside could be when the Inspector General's report is released, and he is satisfied with the findings.” (Jin Shi)
