Odaily reported that the U.S. Senate Banking Committee has announced it will hold a markup hearing on the Clarity Act of 2025 at 10:30 AM on May 14. The bill was previously stalled due to disputes over provisions such as stablecoin yields. Recently, Senators Thom Tillis and Angela Alsobrooks reached a compromise, proposing to prohibit interest payments on static stablecoin reserves while allowing rewards for actively-used stablecoins.

Although industry groups like the American Bankers Association continue to express concerns about the text and suggest amendments, the committee's schedule indicates that the legislative process will move forward. Additionally, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand has proposed adding an ethics clause to the bill, prohibiting senior government officials from profiting while regulating the crypto industry.
