PayPal Restructures Business, Elevates Crypto to Independent Core Unit, Aims to Strengthen PYUSD Stablecoin Ecosystem

Among these, cryptocurrency and payment services have been designated as a separate core business division, integrating payment processing, platform capabilities, and crypto operations, including Braintree, small and medium-sized merchant payment processing, value-added services, and the stablecoin PYUSD. Jeff Pomeroy has been appointed as the interim head of this segment. Analysts believe that incorporating cryptocurrency as an independent core operational unit indicates that PayPal is further strengthening its stablecoin PYUSD and digital asset payment ecosystem layout.
