Odaily reported that the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has released its 2025 annual report. In the section on key priorities and forward-looking plans for 2026, the HKMA stated it will continue to participate in international discussions and cooperation on digital asset policies, particularly regarding the impact of stablecoin-related arrangements on monetary and financial stability, to ensure that the regulatory framework is more aligned with international standards and best practices. Additionally, another key area under "Fintech 2030" is to promote Hong Kong's tokenization ecosystem, further advancing the tokenization of real-world assets (including financial assets) and enabling the settlement of these assets on the blockchain via new digital currencies such as the digital Hong Kong dollar, tokenized deposits, and regulated stablecoins, thereby supporting faster and smoother financial transactions.
