U.S. military says it will continue to impose a comprehensive blockade on all vessels entering and leaving Iranian ports
Odaily Odaily reports: The U.S. Central Command issued a statement on social media stating that the U.S. Navy destroyer USS Pinkney deployed an armed helicopter in the Arabian Sea that day to intercept a merchant vessel, which subsequently complied with U.S. military instructions and returned to Iran under the escort of a U.S. warship. The statement also indicated that the U.S. military will continue to impose a comprehensive blockade on all vessels entering and leaving Iranian ports. Since the blockade began, 37 vessels have been forced to alter course. U.S. President Trump stated on April 13 that the U.S. had imposed a blockade on all vessels entering and leaving Iranian ports starting at 10:00 AM Eastern Time that day. Iran, for its part, stated that this action by the U.S. constitutes an act of war and violates the ceasefire agreement. (CCTV News)
