Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister: Strait of Hormuz Remains Open, Passage Requires Coordination with Iran
Odaily News: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated in a media interview that the Strait of Hormuz currently remains open, but due to the impact of the conflict, there are still certain technical restrictions on passage. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian pointed out that as the strait is in a war zone environment and Iran has implemented multiple measures during the conflict, all vessels wishing to pass through must communicate and coordinate in advance with the Iranian military and relevant contact points.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that the waters of the Strait of Hormuz are narrow and involve the territorial seas of Iran and Oman, therefore prudent measures must be taken to ensure the safe passage of oil tankers and various vessels. When asked whether American vessels are allowed to pass, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stated that in principle, vessels from all parties can pass as long as they are not engaged in hostile activities. No signs of related risks have been detected so far, but all vessels still need to comply with the existing coordination mechanisms and restrictions. (CCTV News)
