U.S. Secretary of State: Iran Absolutely Not Allowed to Permanently Control the Strait of Hormuz
Odaily News On March 30 local time, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio stated that Iran is absolutely not allowed to permanently control the Strait of Hormuz or establish a toll system. During a media interview that day, Rubio said the U.S. aims to achieve its military objectives regarding Iran "within weeks, not months." He stated: "He (U.S. President Trump) prefers the diplomatic route. These (negotiation) efforts are still in their early stages. Some negotiations are ongoing, including through intermediaries." Rubio added: "But we must also be prepared for the possibility that these efforts (negotiations) may fail," and that Iran "is threatening to permanently control the Strait of Hormuz and establish a toll system, among other things.
